So what about those splinters?

The short answer is no. The fuller answer is that splinters are a result of contact with a defect in the timber such as the surface of rough lumber. All our wood is selected to be defect free and then handmade and finished to a mirror smooth surface. So no splinters anywhere.

Are your finishes safe?

We only use food safe finishes and dyes on our products. If you would prefer a vegan friendly finish then please let us know when you order. More info on our finishes can be found here.

Are wooden sex toys hygienic?

Yes, humanity has a long standing relationship with wood. To this day we still use wooden spoons and chopping boards in cooking. Butchers still regularly use wooden chopping blocks to prepare meat and fish. Wood is naturally anti-bacterial even when scratched. If wood was toxic to humans we would definitely know by now. Tests on chopping boards have shown that bacteria are not sustained on wooden products. All our products receive multiple coats of finish and a glass smooth to the touch. The wood itself completely sealed in.

Can I purchase a custom design?

We are happy to quote on a variation or on your own unique design. Simply sends us some sizes and a sketch of your design and we will quote you on a cost. Our maker loves a challenge.

How soon can I have my toy?

If the item is in stock, then usually within three days of your payment clearing. If we need to make a new piece then delivery will take approximately two weeks.

Can I use lube on my wooden dildo?

It is fine to use any form of appropriate lubricant, oil or water based. We recommend cleaning after use with mild soapy water or a toy cleaner and then thoroughly drying before storage.

Care of Our Products

All our products are handmade and finished to a very high standard. To maintain this the following simple steps should be followed.

Use of Lubricants is fine, either oil or water based. We recommend cleaning the toy shortly after use to protect the finish.

Clean the toys after use with mild soapy water or sex toy cleaner. Then dry immediately.

Wooden toys should be stored separately from other products made from artificial materials, to prevent staining or marking occurring to the toy.

Although made from hard woods and being by nature robust, you should avoid dropping or striking the item against hard surfaces. If the surface of the toy becomes significantly damaged we recommend stopping using it to prevent injury.

The finish can be protected and enhanced using food safe waxes. Chopping board oils can also be effective and are by definition food safe.

Finishes

All our finishes and dyes are food safe. We use a complex finishing process to ensure that all our toys are nice to touch and safe to use. Vegan friendly finishing is available on request. Our 7 stage, 21 step finishing process is detailed below.

7 grades of hand sanding
Sealing
Abrasive polish
9 grades of fine sanding sanding
Multiple finish coats to build up finish with sanding in between each coat
Final polish
Buffing

Our preferred finishes are either natural oil or water based polyurethane. Both give a smooth feel, and are highly resistant to water, soap, alcohol and food stuff. They are both non-toxic. That said if you are that rare person who experiences irritation after use, please stop using the toy immediately.

The oil based finish can be refreshed if it becomes dull or worn. We sell a small refresh kit which is quick and easy to use and can be bought here.

Guarantee

Our products are from high quality hard woods and carefully selected to be defect free. We guarantee all products against failure due to natural defects and will provide free replacement. This does not cover any damage as a result of misuse of the toy.
